The calculators and guides here are free educational tools. They produce estimates from published federal figures, not advice, and while we treat any mismatch with a primary source as a defect, you shouldn't make coverage or tax decisions on these numbers alone. Verify anything important with the Marketplace, the SSA, or a qualified professional.
What the site provides
CoverageMath offers free, browser-based calculators and plain-English guides for health-coverage decisions — ACA subsidies, COBRA vs Marketplace comparisons, the self-employed health insurance deduction, and Medicare IRMAA. There are no accounts and no fees. By using the site you accept these terms; if you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
Not professional advice
Everything on this site — calculator results, guides, worked examples — is general information for educational purposes. It is not insurance, tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. CoverageMath is not an insurance company, agent, broker, or enrollment navigator, and using the site creates no professional–client relationship. Health-coverage and tax rules change and individual situations vary; before acting, confirm your options with HealthCare.gov or your state marketplace, the Social Security Administration, or a qualified professional (such as a CPA, enrolled agent, or licensed insurance professional) who knows your situation. Estimates and accuracy
Calculations are built from published federal figures — IRS revenue procedures, HHS and CMS parameters, and SSA notices — and our methodology and editorial policy describe how every number is sourced and reviewed. Even so, the models are simplified: real premiums come from the Marketplace or an insurer's quote, benchmark plans vary by county, and edge cases in the rules are beyond what any general calculator can capture. Results are only as good as the inputs you provide, figures may lag recent changes, and mistakes are possible — if you find one, tell us and we'll fix it. Nothing here is a guarantee of eligibility, subsidy amount, premium, or tax outcome.
Acceptable use
Personal and commercial use of the calculators is welcome. Don't attempt to disrupt or overload the site, harvest its content at scale, or republish substantial portions of it as your own. The site's content is © CoverageMath; linking to any page, and quoting brief excerpts with attribution, is always fine.
Third-party links and advertising
Guides and calculators link to outside resources — HealthCare.gov, IRS, CMS, and SSA pages, and similar — for reference, not as endorsements; those sites have their own terms. The site displays advertising served by Google AdSense on the home page and calculator pages, and advertisers are unaffiliated with us. How ads and analytics use cookies is covered in the privacy policy.
No warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoverageMath and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site — including subsidy repayments, tax underpayments or penalties, missed enrollment deadlines, coverage gaps, or other financial losses resulting from decisions made using these tools.
